Job Summary

Operate CMM equipment to perform precise dimensional inspections and basic mechanical assemblies while interpreting work instructions for accuracy. Perform standard testing, minor and major troubleshooting, and helium leak testing to ensure quality standards are met throughout the assembly process. Utilize hand and power tools to complete sub-assemblies, read assembly prints and blueprints, and maintain compliance with 5S and visual controls. Work primarily in a standard manufacturing environment with frequent interruptions, subject to physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs and using a ladder. Requires 4+ years of CMM experience in a manufacturing or cleanroom setting, proficiency in PC-DMIS, and strong communication skills. Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Some technician coursework and/or AA technical degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in CMM and a manufacturing/cleanroom environment or a combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in advanced assembly, general inspection and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems
  • Advanced Mechanical background with strong knowledge of historical and current assemblies and manufacturing practices
  • Ability to read assembly prints and electrical schematics, and blueprints
  • Knowledge of cable routing, harness configuration, soldering, wiring & crimping standards
  • General knowledge of operating hand tools, portable power tools, and bench tools
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull and grasp
  • Ability to lift up to 25 - 40 lbs
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Ability to move arms, hands and fingers
  • Ability to stand / sit for sustained periods of time
  • Ability to talk on phone and use computer for extended periods of time may be required
  • Ability to use a ladder comfortably
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable
  • Subject to frequent interruptions
  • Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, exposure to chemicals and debris
  • Subject to noise levels
  • Work may require out of town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in helium leak testing, module/ sub-assembly testing, and inspection preferred
  • Basic GD&T knowledge a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, quality focused and a quick learner
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate to both internal and external contacts
  • Advanced computer skills and proficient with running reports from MRP and quality databases
  • Experience with PC-DMIS
