Job Summary
Program and operate CMMs (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) to inspect complex metal parts and assemblies. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to develop accurate measurement routines for first article, in-process, and final inspections. Analyze measurement data, generate detailed reports, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve dimensional issues. Maintain calibration and preventive maintenance schedules for CMM equipment while ensuring compliance with ISO, ASME, and customer-specific quality standards. Requires minimum 2–3 years of CMM experience, proficiency in GD&T, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs in a manufacturing environment with noise and dust exposure. Pay range $20-$22 hourly based on skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in CMM programming and operation within a metal fabrication or precision machining environment
- Proficiency in CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
Desired Qualifications
- technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with metal fabrication processes such as welding, forming, and CNC machining
