CMM Programmer/Metrology Technician

Job Summary
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of mechanical and electrical piece parts and subassemblies using the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and other precision instruments. Operate and program the CMM to conduct detailed measurements on formed sheet metal and machined components per provided drawings and specifications. Accept or reject items based on measurement results, record data, and maintain test records to ISO/regulatory standards. Assist in developing new inspection methods and verifying supplier corrective actions. This role requires familiarity with CMM MCOSMOS and mechanical drawing software. The position is full-time with a pay range of $30-$35 per hour plus incentive. Richardson Electronics manufactures engineered solutions, power grid components, and green energy solutions globally.
Required Qualifications
- Must be familiar with CMM MCOSMOS
- Relevant AS degree in quality or engineering
- 5 years minimum in QA, QC or Inspection
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Proficient in operation and setup of mechanical and electrical inspection instruments (calipers, gage blocks and pins, optical comparator, digital multimeter, Coordinate Measuring Machine, etc.)
- Proficient in reading and understanding complex mechanical drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- PC proficient (MS Word / Excel / Access)
- Familiar with machining processes
- Previous experience working within the framework of a formal Quality Management System
- Extremely diligent regarding proper procedures, cosmetics of finished goods, documentation, etc
- Light lifting daily, with occasional lifting of 50+ pounds required
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with mechanical drawing software packages (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) highly desirable
