Job Summary
Develop, test, and debug CMM programs for complex manufactured parts while collaborating with quality and engineering teams to interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications. Select appropriate probes, fixtures, and measurement strategies to ensure accuracy and repeatability, then perform first article inspections and in-process inspections using the CMM. Optimize programs for efficiency and cycle time reduction, troubleshoot equipment and program issues with corrective actions, and maintain detailed records of programs, inspection results, and calibration data. Train and support production personnel on basic CMM operation and data interpretation. This role is part of a network connecting skilled professionals with manufacturing employers in the Ludington region.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application
- Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and 3D CAD models
- Experience with various CMM hardware platforms and probe systems
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot CMM programs and measurement issues
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies
