Job Summary
Program and operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to measure machined and fabricated parts against customer specifications, utilizing PC-DMIS software and precision hand tools for quality checks. Develop, administer, and troubleshoot CMM programs and inspection paths while ensuring equipment calibration and maintaining clean records of inspection results. Communicate tolerance deviations to Quality Manager and adhere to all safety, security, and housekeeping procedures. Requires at least four years of manufacturing experience, US citizenship for NOFORN access, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This role supports the rapidly growing Federal Equipment Company division of Fairbanks Morse Defense, which designs and delivers critical shipboard systems to the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.
Required Qualifications
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma
- At least 4 years of related manufacturing experience
- Ability to use measuring instruments, (digital AND dial/analog - micrometers, calipers) test sets, and gauging equipment
- Ability to read customer drawings and specifications, including GD&T
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions, tolerance, etc.
- Ability to operate Windows based computers and working knowledge of typical office programs
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- US Citizenship
- Attestation that you do not have dual citizenship
