CMM Metrology Technician

Job Summary
CMM Metrology Technician responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines to perform dimensional inspections of mechanical and optical components across production areas. You will interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and CAD models; manage CMM programs and revisions; run inspection programs; troubleshoot issues; and document measurements with traceability. Responsibilities include First Article Inspection (FAI) support per AS9102 standards, routine CMM calibration/maintenance, and collaboration with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies while maintaining 5S and safety practices. The role involves handling delicate optical components and may require rotating shifts. The position is based in Midland, Ontario with relocation eligibility and a signing bonus; candidates must meet security-screening requirements under Canadian regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or related field
- strong attention to detail
- ability to follow protocols
- experience with CMM software and precision measuring tools
- ability to work independently in fast-paced environment
