Job Summary
Conduct precision mechanical inspections on Starship components, assemblies, and materials using standard gauges and Articulating Arms like Romer. Program and setup CMMs and Faro Arms to verify feature tolerances against engineering drawings, specifications, and SpaceX standards. Review certifications and specifications to ensure conformance, documenting any non-conformances at suppliers while supporting corrective action processes. Verify parts meet industry standards and design requirements for purchased, in-process, and final assemblies. Work Mon-Fri 10:00am–10:00pm including overtime and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of precision mechanical inspection experience
- 3+ years of programming and running CMM or Faro Arm experience
- Must be able to work Mon-Fri 10:00am – 10:00pm including overtime and weekends as needed
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national
- Must be a U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
- Must be a Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157
- Must be an Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158
- Must be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Desired Qualifications
- Aerospace precision inspection experience
- Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)
- CMM Programming with PC-DMIS software
- Romer Arm experience with Verisurf software
- Basic understanding of electronics inspection and propulsion valve operation
- Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Statistical process control experience
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities and tasks as delegated
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification using ASME Y14.5. GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gauge
