Job Summary
Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines and other precision inspection equipment to inspect purchased and internally manufactured aerospace components. Read and interpret engineering drawings, digital models, customer specifications, and technical requirements while applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards. Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and optical inspections to determine product acceptance or rejection, then document inspection results and complete required quality records. Prepare nonconformance and rejection documentation as needed. Program CMM equipment for accurate and repeatable inspections and perform final inspections on components prior to shipment. Support Designated Supplier Quality Representative activities when qualified. Follow all safety procedures and quality standards while working in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience reading and interpreting aerospace blueprints
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
- Strong knowledge of aerospace inspection practices and quality requirements
- Ability to read complex engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation
- Working knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Experience performing close-tolerance dimensional inspections
- Ability to accurately document inspection results and nonconformances
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Applicants must meet applicable export-control requirements
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of aerospace quality assurance or inspection experience
- Experience operating or programming CMM equipment
- Training in blueprint reading, precision measurement, or applied mathematics
- AS13001 certification
- Experience with Calypso, PC-DMIS, or similar CMM programming software
- General knowledge of CREO, SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, or similar software
