Job Summary
Certified Medication Assistant II (CMA II) responsible for resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under charge nurse supervision. Administers prescribed medications per scope of practice, records vital signs, assists with daily activities, transfers/mobility as needed, supports psycho-social well-being, meal assistance, and participates in wellness and recreational programs. Ensures documentation of outcomes, communicates changes to the charge nurse, and maintains state-specific CMA certification requirements. PRN/on-call scheduling with 12-hour shifts in a long-term care setting; applicable state CNA/CMA certifications required and ongoing continuing education and competency testing.
Required Qualifications
- CMA II license required at time of hire
- Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course completion
- Active CMA/TMA certification in state of practice
- State-specific nursing assistant or CMA certification as applicable (Iowa/Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota)
- Minimum age 18 preferred
- Satisfactory annual competency testing and continuing education requirements
