Job Summary
Medical office role: assist physician by rooming patients, documenting signs/symptoms, vital signs and BMI, review medical histories, assist with procedures, obtain prior authorizations, manage referrals and scheduling of tests/procedures, communicate with OR and other departments, enter orders into EMR, handle medical records, FMLA and disability paperwork, coordinate with Pharmacy and Revenue Cycle, maintain exam rooms and supplies, and ensure patient understanding of instructions. Requires High school diploma with recognized medical assistant training and certification (CMA/AAMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA), and current BLS/CPR within 6 months; minimum one year of Medical Assistant experience in a physician’s office or similar setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- specialized medical assistant training
- CMA (AAMA) or RMA or NCMA or CCMA certification
- Current BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers within 6 months of hire
- At least one year of related Medical Assistant experience in physician’s office or similar setting
