Job Summary
Clinical and clerical healthcare role in a neurology clinic. Fulfills patient care responsibilities such as checking schedules, assisting patients with exams and transfers, collecting patient history, performing screenings, and assisting physicians/nurses with procedures, charting, and relaying instructions. Supports clerical duties including sending/receiving medical records, scheduling appointments, updating charts, and coordinating with management. Maintains infection control by cleaning rooms and instruments, handles specimen procedures, and adheres to HIPAA, confidentiality, and patient rights. Demonstrates proficiency with EMR/EHR, scheduling and billing software, and general computer skills; emphasizes teamwork, patient advocacy, professional communication, and continuous learning in line with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Medical assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES OR Indiana LPN licensure OR Indiana RN licensure (active)
- BLS certification preferred
- TB certification preferred
- ACLS/PALS preferred
- Three to five years of recent experience in medical practice as CMA, LPN, or RN
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems
- HIPAA compliance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to organize and communicate effectively
- Knowledge of scheduling and billing software
