Job Summary
The CMA/LPN Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic role supports a fast-paced outpatient cardiothoracic environment. The Certified Medical Assistant works under the Outpatient Clinic Manager and RN supervision to assist in examinations and treatments, collect and record vital signs, interview patients, and prep treatment rooms to facilitate efficient, patient-centered care across cardiology, CT surgery, vascular surgery, and transplant patients. Requires completion of an accredited medical assisting program with High School diploma or equivalent, and applicable licensure/certifications (AMT/AAMA/NHA/NAHP/NCCT/MA1, etc.); LPN licensure in SC or a compact state with BLS certification. The position emphasizes physical stamina, teamwork, and the ability to support a decentralized patient care approach in a busy clinic. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (CMA program completion with one year patient care experience preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant licensure/certification requirements: AMT, AAMA, NHA, MA1, NAHP, NCCT as listed in job description
- LPN license in South Carolina or compact state; current SC LPN license or compact state license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required by role
- Under supervision of RN, CMA performs multi-skilled activities to support patient-centered care; assists in examination and treatment under physician direction; interviews patients; measures vital signs; inputs data to medical records; prepares treatment rooms
