Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant in Obstetrics & Gynecology for Medical Associates. Responsible for collecting patient health data, reviewing records, coordinating with physicians and mid-level providers to meet patient needs; performing general office duties including updating demographics and insurance information, accepting payments and co-pays, scheduling appointments, and creating lab orders; assisting with infertility and surgery workups; collaborating with the healthcare team according to the plan of care; communicating effectively with patients and colleagues; documenting care interventions and assisting with medical record integrity; facilitating reimbursement through charge tickets and insurance requirements; maintaining a safe, organized office environment and equipment; and participating in meetings and additional duties as needed. Requirements include 1-3 years of experience preferred, Medical Assistant certification, and education equivalent to a two-year college degree. BLS required biannually and proficiency with EMR systems are expected. Location: Dubuque, IA. Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:30am-5:00pm, four days a week with rotating day off; full benefits package offered.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification
- Two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification at a business or trade school
- BLS required biannually
- 1-3 years of experience preferred
- Ability to perform tasks in obstetrics & gynecology setting
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage scheduling and administrative duties
