Job Summary
CMA - OB/GYN in Naval Hospital Jacksonville provides direct patient care in outpatient family practice/primary care. Responsibilities include obtaining patient medical records, assisting the provider during exams, transporting patients, verifying charts and diagnoses, administering medications as directed, obtaining lab and x-ray results, answering phones and transcribing messages, ensuring equipment safety, managing patient flow, and operating medical devices (Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor, Nebulizer, EKG, IV infusion pump). Requires CMA certification and graduation from an accredited medical assistant program; BLS required. One year of prior outpatient CMA experience preferred. Required Qualifications
- Degree: Certificate
- BLS (Basic Life Support Required)
- Education: Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by: CAAHEP, ABHES, AMT, AAC, ARMA, NCCT, or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces
- Certification: Possess certification as a medical assistant by: AAMA OR AMT OR ARMA OR NCCT
- Experience: Minimum of one year of full-time CMA experience in outpatient family practice or primary care (within last 3 years)
