Job Summary
Obtains vital signs, maintains patient health records, and prepares exam rooms and medical equipment for visits. Triages patients, enters accurate data into the EMR, and facilitates quality care management through best practice utilization. Answers phones, routes calls, and takes accurate messages while demonstrating urgency for distressed patients. Verifies insurance eligibility, scans cards, and maintains up-to-date demographic and insurance information. Refills medications according to guidelines, monitors work queues for follow-up, and notifies providers of social determinants of health barriers. Ensures documentation is complete, concise, and correct while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and safety checks.
Required Qualifications
- CMA -Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program with an active certification.
- LPN- Must have an active license.
- Knowledge of practice management systems
- office automation skills
- extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
- experience assisting physician with patient care (vital signs, specimen collection, etc.)
