Job Summary
Obtain vital signs, maintain up-to-date patient health records, and prepare exam rooms and medical equipment for visits. Triage patients by answering phones, routing calls, and entering accurate data into the EMR while monitoring work queues for follow-up. Verify insurance eligibility, scan cards, and refill medications according to guidelines. Identify barriers related to social determinants of health and notify providers. Ensure documentation is complete, concise, and correct in compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations. Demonstrate initiative in problem-solving approaches and promote continuity of care through prompt follow-ups. Assist other clinic personnel in ensuring patient compliance and receipt of test results.
Required Qualifications
- CMA -Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program with an active certification.
- LPN- Must have an active license.
- Knowledge of practice management systems
- office automation skills
- extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
- experience assisting physician with patient care (vital signs, specimen collection, etc.)
