Job Summary

The Certified Medication Aide administers medications (oral, topical, and other forms) per physician orders and facility protocols, observes residents for reactions, assists with medication reminders and adherence, and maintains EMR documentation. Ensures compliance with state/federal regulations, follows infection control and safety protocols, collaborates with nursing staff to support resident care, and participates in ongoing education to maintain certification. CMA certification in the relevant state and a high school diploma or equivalent are required; prior LTC/ SNF/AL experience is preferred. Strong attention to detail, communication, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach are essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in facility state
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living preferred
  • Knowledge of medication administration, safety practices, and documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
