Job Summary
Obtain vital signs, collect laboratory specimens, and prepare patients for examinations while maintaining up-to-date health records and accurate medication sheets. Enter and record patient information concisely in the EMR, triage basic care needs, and manage appointment scheduling and registration. Verify insurance eligibility, process referrals, and ensure correct use of ICD-10 and CPT codes to capture appropriate charges. Adhere to HIPAA guidelines, privacy protocols, and safety checks during all patient interactions and equipment maintenance. Identify barriers related to social determinants of health and notify providers promptly.
Required Qualifications
- CMA
- Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Knowledge of practice management systems
- Office automation skills
- extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
- experience assisting physician with patient care (vital signs, specimen collection, etc.)
