Job Summary
Administer oral, topical, and inhaled medications as prescribed by physicians, verifying resident identity and maintaining accurate medication administration records. Monitor residents for adverse reactions, report condition changes to nursing staff, and assist with activities of daily living including mobility and hygiene. Manage medication inventory, ensure safe storage, and prepare medications for administration while documenting all observations timely. Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, infection control protocols, and facility policies. Requires current CMA certification, high school diploma, and completion of state-approved training. Works every other weekend shifts with potential exposure to infectious diseases. Required Qualifications
- Current certification as a Medication Aide (CMA) as required by state regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved medication aide training program
- Strong understanding of medication administration and related procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
- Ability to lift and transfer residents as needed
- Capability to stand, walk, and perform various physical tasks throughout the shift
- Requires every other weekend shifts depending on facility needs

- Previous experience in a healthcare or assisted living setting
