Job Summary
Compose daily inspection reports, track materials for contract compliance, and observe testing of field-related materials. Review Quality Control Plans and monitor field testing throughout heavy civil infrastructure projects. Interpret contract plans and specifications, perform engineering calculations, and utilize mobile computing tools including Bluebeam and Excel. Navigate uneven surfaces, lift up to 30 pounds, and climb stairs or ladders while maintaining a valid driver's license. Work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, including emergency callouts, with flexibility to travel for Western Washington per diem projects. Requires four to five years of construction quality experience and specific certifications including WAQTC, ACI, and WABO/ICC.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of previous road, bridge, transportation related experience
- 4 years of construction quality experience and/or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- 5 years of construction quality experience on civil, residential, commericial, or transit projects
- WAQTC certification
- ACI certification
- one or more WABO/ICC Special Inspector Certifications
- Ability to navigate uneven surfaces
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with mobile computing tools including Outlook, Bluebeam, Excel, and Word
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to interpret contract plans and specifications and perform and check engineering calculations
- Ability to travel for Western Washington per diem projects
- Flexibility to adjust work schedule to coincide with contractor activities
- Ability to travel as needed
- Ability to work nights
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to work holidays
- Ability to perform emergency callout/standby
