Job Summary
Compose daily inspection reports and track materials for contract compliance on heavy civil infrastructure projects. Observe field material testing, review quality control plans, and monitor field testing throughout the project. Interpret contract plans and specifications to perform engineering calculations while navigating uneven surfaces and lifting up to 30 pounds. Proficient with mobile computing tools including Outlook, Bluebeam, Excel, and Word. Requires valid driver's license, ability to travel for Western Washington per diem projects, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and perform emergency callouts.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of previous road, bridge, transportation related experience
- 4 years of construction quality experience and/or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- 5 years of construction quality experience on civil, residential, commericial, or transit projects
- WAQTC certification
- ACI certification
- one or more WABO/ICC Special Inspector Certifications
- Ability to navigate uneven surfaces
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with mobile computing tools including Outlook, Bluebeam, Excel, and Word
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to interpret contract plans and specifications
- Ability to perform and check engineering calculations
- Ability to travel for Western Washington per diem projects
- Flexibility to adjust work schedule to coincide with contractor activities
- Ability to travel as needed
- Ability to work nights
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to work holidays
- Ability to perform emergency callout/standby
