Job Summary

Conduct head coaching for assigned travel teams by delivering organized, age-appropriate training sessions and managing league matches while maintaining accurate player records and Individual Development Plans. Coordinate seasonal program planning, field usage, and event logistics including tournament setups and game-day operations, while managing equipment inventory and resolving scheduling conflicts. Support administrative functions such as player registration, rostering, and eligibility processes within club systems, prepare reports and presentations for leadership, and handle scholarship documentation and payment reconciliations. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, utilizing Microsoft Office and sports-management platforms to ensure club programs are delivered according to professional standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum United States Soccer Federation coaching qualification
  • Previous youth soccer coaching experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Ability to learn and manage club registration, communication, and scheduling platforms
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and selected holidays based on the club calendar
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Commitment to player safety, safeguarding, professionalism, and youth development
  • Must understand and support The Salvation Army's mission as a church and a social services organization

Desired Qualifications

  • United States Soccer Federation C License or higher
  • Experience working in youth soccer administration or club operations
  • Experience using membership management systems. Example: BYGA
  • Experience with SportsEngine, PlayMetrics, TeamSnap, GotSport, or similar sports-management platforms
  • Experience coordinating tournaments, camps, clinics, or special events
  • Experience with player registration, rostering, carding, and league administration
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese
  • Familiarity with the Newark and Ironbound communities
