Job Summary
Club Leaders are responsible for ensuring a fun and positive learning environment for approximately 20 children, leading age-appropriate program activities aligned with the whole-child approach, monitoring attendance and engagement, building positive relationships with participants and staff, collaborating with the Site Coordinator and Community Liaison, and participating in required trainings. This is an on-site role with potential day camps and/or sleepaway camps, including training at the Woodcraft Rangers office and at school sites. Responsibilities include maintaining safety and inclusivity, developing activity plans from the activity catalog, coordinating materials within budget, complying with safety requirements, and may involve off-site field trips. The role requires up-to-date trainings and certifications, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and frequent interaction with youth; a strong emphasis on leadership, collaboration, and positive youth development. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, energetic, proactive, comfortable presenting in person, and capable of working both independently and with a team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED (AA Degree in Child Development or a related field preferred)
- Knowledge and experience working in expanded learning programs or youth recreational facilities
- Valid LIVE Scan, TB Clearance, and CPR Certification
- Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling
- For ABC Unified School District (Cerritos) Candidates ONLY - 48+ College Units or ABC Unified Paraeducator Test Completion
