Job Summary

Supervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all times while leading the planning, management, and implementation of club enrichment activities at school sites. Design culturally relevant, age-appropriate club activities that foster progressive skill building, culminating in events, and assist in student recruitment to maintain program capacity. Collaborate with school and district personnel to align club goals with district priorities and serve as a mentor by providing positive behavior guidance that supports the developmental and social-emotional needs of youth. Maintain daily operational duties to ensure spaces are clean, organized, and safe, and respond to critical incidents or emergencies as needed. Occasional travel throughout San Diego County may be required for shift coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must possess a high school diploma/GED
  • Six months of experience in enrichment programming, youth development, education, or comparable setting
  • Previous experience as instructor or demonstrated advanced skill in specialty
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents
  • Physical ability to act in an emergency situation
  • Physical ability to lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activities
  • Must be able to attend all scheduled shifts, required meetings, and trainings
  • Must include fingerprinting prior to reporting to work
  • Must include subsequent arrest notifications
  • Must include Negative TB assessment or test results obtained within the past 60 days
  • Must include CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification including Adult and Child/Infant
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety & Health Institute
  • Completion of one of the following: 48 college credits at an institution of higher education, AA/AS degree, OR Passing score on district's Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide proficiency exam
