Job Summary
Conduct a wide variety of laboratory procedures in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, and Immunology using manual and automated methods. Perform and document maintenance on instruments, review patient results for accuracy before reporting, and adhere to CLIA, NAC, and hospital policies for safety and infection control. Execute venipuncture or capillary puncture across age groups, assist in developing laboratory policies, and act as Lead Tech or General Supervisor in the absence of a manager. Review proficiency testing samples and manage LIS/POC responsibilities as assigned. This per diem role at Saint Mary's Health Network requires a General Supervisor license and 3+ years of clinical lab experience, with flexibility to work any shift.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science (AKA Medical Lab Science or Medical Technology) or related BS from an accredited college
- Meets the education and certification requirements for licensure and possess a valid GENERAL SUPERVISOR license from the State of Nevada - or is eligible to work while license is pending
- Minimum of 3 years working in a clinical laboratory
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
- Ability to work and problem solve independently
- Flexibility to work any shift as needed
