Job Summary
Iron Melter role on 1st shift in Oskaloosa, IA, responsible for loading scrap metal, preparing furnace, pouring molten metal into molds, transferring ladles to pouring line, and maintaining ladles. Requires reading/writing, ability to work around moving machinery, extreme heat tolerance, lifting up to 50 lbs frequently, standing for long periods, and use of PPE (respirator, metatarsal boots, eye/ear protection, apron, gloves, sleeves). Familiarity with cranes, hoists, forklifts, and general foundry/shop safety. $500 sign-on bonus after 120 days and health insurance after 60 days.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read and write and understand training and instruction
- Ability to work in extreme heat
- Must be able to utilize and work around moving machinery (i.e cranes, hoists, forklifts as needed)
- Must be able to utilize proper PPE including: respirator, metatarsal guarded boots, eye protection, hearing protection, apron, gloves and sleeves
- Frequent lifting/carrying of up to 10 lbs, some lifting of up to 50 lbs
- Frequent lifting greater than 40 times per hour
- Able to stand for >8 hours
- 1st Shift 5am-3:30pm
- Health insurance available after 60 days
- $500 sign on bonus after 120 day probationary period complete
