Job Summary
Cloud Solutions Architect to design secure, scalable AWS GovCloud architectures behind a mission-critical Defense Aviation platform; hybrid role based in Vienna, VA. Produce architecture diagrams, design documents, and technical decision records; apply Well-Architected principles; ensure security-by-design, DoD/DISA alignment, and auditable, monitored environments. Guide engineering teams through implementation, set standards for infrastructure as code and CI/CD, translate mission requirements into technical roadmaps, and collaborate with data teams and stakeholders on cloud strategy and modernization.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of cloud experience, including 3+ years in an architecture or lead engineering role
- Deep expertise designing AWS solutions across compute, networking, storage, and IAM
- Strong command of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and secure cloud design patterns
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD at scale
- Strong understanding of cloud security, identity, and network segmentation
- Ability to produce clear architecture documentation and present to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience leading delivery across multidisciplinary teams
