Job Summary

Design, optimize, and enhance cloud-based architectures to support ESS operational requirements, creating scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions for rapid deployment across diverse mission scenarios. Lead planning and implementation for migrating on-prem capabilities into the AWS cloud, developing automation frameworks to streamline provisioning and maintain infrastructure-as-code templates. Implement security controls including encryption and hardened configurations while collaborating with DevOps engineers to enhance CI/CD pipelines. Conduct architecture reviews, provide technical guidance, and support troubleshooting of complex architectural issues during active operations. Perform investigations to characterize breach severity, develop mitigation plans, and assist with service restoration for civilian government agencies and critical asset owners.

Required Qualifications

  • Secret with ability to get a DHS Suitability
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience designing cloud architectures, preferably on AWS
  • 8+ years of directly relevant experience
  • Strong expertise in AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudFormation
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions
  • Strong documentation and technical communication skills
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)

Desired Qualifications

  • TS/SCI preferred
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
  • Experience designing solutions for cybersecurity or incident response operations
  • Knowledge of multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures
  • Experience with Splunk
  • Experience migrating on-prem legacy systems to a cloud environment
  • Experience with Azure and Entra
  • Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS)
  • Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST)
  • Background in system administration or DevOps
