Job Summary
Manage and maintain Old Mutual's cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security by performing system maintenance, patching, and disaster recovery procedures. Monitor cloud systems daily, report capacity, and respond to incidents per SLA while participating in 24/7 on-call rotations. Lead the Cloud Operations team, manage performance, and act as the senior escalation point for operational issues. Optimize cloud spend continuously through daily spend visibility, waste identification, rightsizing, and cost reporting using tools like AWS Cost Explorer and Azure Cost Management. Write and maintain operational scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to support maintenance and remediation tasks. Ensure compliance with security policies, perform access reviews, and enforce resource tagging standards. Contribute operational findings to quarterly FinOps reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- A numerate Bachelor's Degree (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering) with minimum or equivalent technical qualification
- 4years of professional experience
- Relevant cloud certification
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google
- DevOps
