Job Summary
Administer production Microsoft SQL Server databases on Azure, including monitoring, patching, backup management, restore testing, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Respond to alerts, identify root causes, and drive issues to resolution while executing change and release work under change control. Leverage AI tools to automate routine tasks and improve troubleshooting efficiency and cost effectiveness. Grow into Oracle and broader cloud database coverage with training support. This role provides backup coverage for specialists, allowing time to broaden database and cloud skills. Work alongside senior engineers across the US, Europe, and India in a global environment focused on advancing clinical research and digital health.
Required Qualifications
- Solid hands-on experience managing production MS SQL Server databases
- Working knowledge of Azure
- Advanced English
- A learning mindset
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with other databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL
- AWS experience
- Linux familiarity
- Oracle
- Infrastructure as Code
- Experience in a regulated environment
- Comfort using AI tools (Copilot, Claude, or similar) to work more efficiently on operational tasks
- Experience using an AI assistant in real operational or engineering work
- The judgment to verify AI output before acting on production
