Job Summary

Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudFormation, and EKS while integrating software components across cloud, Windows, and Linux environments. Build containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, implement CI/CD pipelines to automate workflows, and develop scripting solutions for cloud provisioning. Perform system testing, monitor resources for performance and cost optimization, and configure networking components such as load balancers and route tables. Write technical documentation, collaborate on troubleshooting integration issues, and support cybersecurity compliance efforts including IAM policy management and secure configurations. This role requires a U.S. citizen eligible for a Secret security clearance and offers a 9/80 flexible schedule with onsite or flex options at the Groton CT facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months relevant experience
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtained within a reasonable amount of time after hire
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience working with AWS cloud services in a professional environment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Demonstrated experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Terraform)
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, or similar)
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux system administration
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • AWS certification (Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate, SysOps Administrator, or similar)
  • Experience with AWS EKS, ECS, or Fargate for container orchestration
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK)
  • Familiarity with AWS monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Experience writing database queries (SQL)
  • Awareness of cost management and optimization strategies in AWS
  • Familiarity with DoD or government cloud environments (AWS GovCloud)
  • Coursework, certifications, or project experience in cloud architecture or systems integration
