Cloud Integration Engineer (AWS / Kubernetes / Healthcare Interoperability)

Job Summary

Design and implement cloud-native integration solutions utilizing Kubernetes and AWS services to support enterprise healthcare interoperability standards like X12, HL7, and FHIR. Build scalable architectures that enable continuous delivery via Argo CD while implementing service mesh technologies such as Istio for traffic management and security. Implement monitoring, telemetry, logging, and tracing using Datadog to improve platform performance and operational visibility, then troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis. Collaborate with architects, infrastructure engineers, and security professionals to establish integration standards and automate deployment workflows in highly regulated environments.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to meet VA security and suitability requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Minimum two years of experience designing or supporting cloud-based integrations utilizing Kubernetes
  • Minimum two years of experience with AWS integration services
  • Minimum two years implementing healthcare interoperability solutions using X12, HL7, and FHIR
  • Experience supporting modern cloud-native architectures within enterprise environments
  • Strong experience with several of the following: Kubernetes, AWS Integration Services, Cloud-Native Integration, X12, HL7, FHIR, REST APIs, Microservices, Distributed Systems, Argo CD, Continuous Delivery, Datadog (or similar observability platforms), Telemetry, Logging, Distributed Tracing, Service Mesh Technologies (Istio preferred)

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Cloud & Container Technologies, Docker, Amazon EKS, Hybrid Cloud Architectures, Container Orchestration, Enterprise Integration, API Design, Enterprise Integration Patterns, Event-Driven Architecture, Healthcare Technology, Electronic Health Records (EHR), Healthcare Data Exchange, Regulated Healthcare Environments
  • Experience supporting Federal healthcare initiatives
  • Experience working within highly regulated environments
