Cloud Infrastructure & System Engineer (Hybrid)

$120,000–$120,000 year

HybridPrairie Village, Kansas, United States

Full Time

Job Summary

Serve as the primary technical owner for the organization's AWS infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security. Design, maintain, and troubleshoot AWS networking, implement architectural improvements, and develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or CloudFormation. Manage security patching, vulnerability remediation, and configuration hardening across all systems while configuring monitoring, alerting, and logging. Establish performance metrics, respond to infrastructure alerts, and validate backup and disaster recovery solutions. Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident remediation for production issues. Support the development team by troubleshooting application infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes, particularly for the custom lending platform. Assist with security assessments, audits, and regulatory compliance requests as needed. This hybrid role supports the Director of IT, allowing them to focus on strategic initiatives, while contributing to cross-functional projects involving AI tools.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience managing production cloud infrastructure
  • significant hands-on AWS experience
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and network security
  • Experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux environments
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar tools
  • Comfort operating as a generalist — willing and able to move between infrastructure, development support, and general IT tasks as priorities shift
  • Experience in a regulated industry (banking, financial services, or similar)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and recovery testing
  • Experience troubleshooting production applications and infrastructure in a high-availability environment
  • Strong documentation and change-management discipline
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a desk or computer
  • You must be able to use a computer and other office equipment (e.g., phone, printer)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and through written correspondence
  • Ability to concentrate and focus on tasks for extended periods in a fast-paced environment

Desired Qualifications

  • AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator)
