Job Summary
Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions using Infrastructure as Code principles. Manage and scale cloud footprints directly with AWS services while gaining practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration. Support automation efforts through scripting in Python or Bash to improve platform efficiency and developer workflows. Partner with senior platform engineers to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and participate in architectural discussions. This full-time, paid internship sits at the intersection of software engineering and systems operations, designed to help you build the foundations that allow the engineering organization to ship code faster and more reliably.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing concepts, with a specific interest in AWS
- Experience writing scripts in Python or Bash for personal projects, coursework, or previous roles
- An understanding of how software interacts with the underlying operating system and network
Desired Qualifications
- You enjoy automating repetitive tasks or 'homelabbing' (setting up your own servers, VPS, or cloud instances)
- Exposure to (or a strong desire to learn) orchestration tools like Kubernetes and containerization with Docker
- Familiarity with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- You don't just want to write code; you want to understand the entire lifecycle of how that code gets deployed and monitored
- A passion for finding 'the better way' to do things and an eagerness to collaborate within a fast-paced, high-stakes engineering environment
