Job Summary
Support and maintain Azure cloud environments by monitoring virtual machines, storage, networking, and databases using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics. Diagnose and resolve infrastructure incidents while implementing security controls, role-based access control, and backup solutions. Develop automation scripts in PowerShell, Python, or Terraform to manage infrastructure-as-code deployments and support Azure DevOps pipelines. Administer Entra ID, hybrid identity solutions, and networking services including VPNs and ExpressRoute. Maintain resources through patching, support upgrades for Synapse and Power Platform, and produce technical documentation for knowledge sharing. Work with architects and stakeholders to ensure reliability, performance, and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualification in a technology-related discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Experience supporting Azure cloud environments
- Knowledge of Azure services including compute, storage, networking, security and databases
- Experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues within cloud environments
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python or equivalent scripting technologies
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform, ARM templates or Bicep
- Experience using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics or similar monitoring tools
- Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, ExpressRoute and network security controls
- Understanding of cloud security principles, identity management and data protection
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification
- Experience supporting Azure DevOps pipelines
- Experience supporting Power Platform and Microsoft 365 services
- Experience supporting Synapse Analytics environments
- Experience within public sector or highly regulated environments
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
