Job Summary
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer responsible for managing and improving AWS-based infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. Key duties include deploying and supporting containerised (Docker/ECS) and serverless (Lambda) applications, owning infrastructure as code for reproducible environments, implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies, managing operational data stores (Aurora MySQL, DynamoDB), and driving cost optimization. The role emphasizes monitoring and incident management using Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch; reviewing security with AWS Security Hub and Cloudflare; collaborating with cross-functional teams; automating manual processes; and delivering continuous platform improvements. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, IaC, Linux, and cloud security best practices is highly valued, with a flexible hybrid/remote-friendly setup in the UK. Required Qualifications
- Experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering or DevOps
- Strong experience with AWS services and containerised applications
- Experience operating operational data stores (Aurora MySQL, DynamoDB)
- Proficiency with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
- Strong understanding of network security and Cloudflare; VPC fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines for Docker-based and serverless deployments (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and platform recovery
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and with teams
