Job Summary
Cloud FinOps Engineer role within the CVE team at Kuehne+Nagel IT hub in Porto. Lead and implement cloud financial management (CFM) across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, focusing on cost optimization, data-driven budgeting, and alignment with product development and operations. Responsibilities include analyzing cloud spend across applications, collaborating with finance and cloud account teams to refine methods, identifying cost optimization opportunities, building and communicating cost insights to decision makers, and supporting guardrails and DevFinOps activities. Required skills include in-depth knowledge of AWS cost explorer and dashboards (Quicksight), cloud cost concepts and reporting, budgeting, data analysis, policy-as-code, and strong stakeholder communication. The role offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely, with team distribution across Porto, Hamburg, and Tallinn, contributing to cloud cost efficiency and product value realization.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrable technical knowledge of AWS services including cost explorer, quicksight dashboards, and AWS budgets
- Knowledge of cost optimization concepts (rightsizing, waste management)
- Understanding of cloud concepts and cost reporting tools
- Experience with financial data analysis and standard tools/query languages
- MS Excel skills for integration and reporting
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience in Policy-as-Code and integration into delivery pipelines
- Understanding of software architecture patterns for cost-effective solutions
- Experience in consulting and onboarding DevOps teams into cost management activities
