Job Summary
Lead the Cloud Automation Engineering function, directing a team of engineers to design and implement automation solutions in cloud estates using infrastructure as code. Drive automation adoption, ensure security best practices and compliance, evangelize automation tooling, and support customer needs. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities for improvement, designing and implementing automation use cases, building automated incident detection and response mechanisms, proactive monitoring and alerting, driving CSI initiatives, creating reusable central modules, leading design and implementation of automation tooling, setting technical direction for the Automation Engineering team, and maintaining documentation and reports on system performance and cost savings. Collaboration with other cloud teams and ownership of Enterprise Technology platforms, pipelines delivering Infrastructure as Code, and automated DevOps toolchains are also required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience in cloud computing platforms (at least two AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services
- Deep understanding of infrastructure as code, CI/CD systems, and DevOps toolchains
- Proven experience in the use of Terraform for delivering cloud computing infrastructure or other platforms
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices for continuous integration and deployment
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and familiarity with orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Experience in programming languages like Python or Go for scripting and automation tasks
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets to make informed decisions
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, especially in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
