Job Summary

Cloud Engineer to build and operate the AWS GovCloud infrastructure behind a mission-critical Defense Aviation platform used by federal customers. Responsibilities include provisioning infrastructure as code, automating hardened image pipelines, developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing EC2/VPC/S3/IAM, monitoring production environments with CloudWatch, troubleshooting networking/identity/compute issues across hybrid, AD-integrated environments, applying hardened baselines such as STIGs, supporting audit/compliance activities, and collaborating with architects and security engineers to ensure secure, observable, and cost-efficient cloud operations. Requires Linux and Windows administration, IaC in Terraform/CloudFormation, familiarity with AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM), scripting in Python/Bash/PowerShell, and on-call incident response. Hybrid work arrangement based in Vienna, VA.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • 3+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience, preferably with AWS
  • Strong experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation)
  • Proficiency administering Linux and Windows systems in cloud environments
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking including VPC, subnets, routing, DNS, and security groups
  • Experience with IAM, least-privilege access, and cloud security fundamentals
  • Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical, root-cause approach
