Job Summary
Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain GovCloud-based infrastructures across AWS and Azure for a DoD customer, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Responsibilities include configuring IAM/RBAC and cross-domain solutions, optimizing networking (VPC, VPN), developing IaC pipelines with Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates, and producing security/compliance documentation. The role emphasizes cloud-security governance (ATO processes, RMF, NIST, FedRAMP), cost monitoring, and cross-work-order coordination, with a remote/offsite working environment. Preferred certifications include AWS Solutions Architect – Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and Google Professional Cloud Architect.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in cloud engineering
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing AWS and Azure cloud environments with a focus on security, automation, and scalability
- Proficiency in IAM, RBAC, Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), and cloud networking configurations (VPC peering, subnets, VPNs, security groups)
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
- Experience supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, including SSP, SAR, and POA&M
- Knowledge of DoD governance frameworks and RMF, NIST requirements, FedRAMP, and IL-4/IL-5 security mandates
- Strong collaboration with cybersecurity teams to implement security controls per FedRAMP/RMF/DoD requirements
