Job Summary
Design and architecture of cloud solutions meeting scalability, performance, and security requirements while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align business needs and strategies. Empower staff to utilize cloud resources holistically for cost optimization, security, and compliance by leveraging industry best practices in automation, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Advocate for emerging technologies to enhance cloud capabilities and rectify scalable solutions within a highly collaborative environment. This role requires at least five years of hands-on cloud engineering experience in an enterprise setting, including proficiency with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure, along with strong skills in Python, Bash, and Linux administration. Base salary ranges from $135,000 to $170,000, with additional equity-based compensation and benefits. Join Schrödinger's Information Technology team to support the discovery of novel therapeutics and materials.
Required Qualifications
- An experienced cloud engineer who focuses on designing, implementing, and rectifying scalable cloud solutions
- in-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform
- knowledge of other platforms like AWS or Azure
- An excellent problem-solver who enjoys collaborating in an Agile environment
- A proficient user of Infrastructure as Code tools (such as Github/GitLab, Terraform, Ansible)
- ability to automate change management via CI/CD
- A networking expert
- A security expert
- A data storage expert
- A skilled scripter and programmer (Python, Bash, etc.)
- An advanced Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL) administrator
- some macOS and Windows administration background
- At least five years of real-world, hands-on experience with cloud engineering in an enterprise environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- comparable experience in a professional setting
- A proven track record of creating and improving internal standards, processes, and policies

- Experience in a compliance-heavy environment (ISO, SOX, GxP, etc.)
