Job Summary
Cloud Engineer role guiding NSW Education Standards Authority’s cloud and hybrid infrastructure across AWS/Azure and on-premises environments. Responsible for implementing, operating, and tuning cloud resources, automating configurations, monitoring performance, security, availability and cost, and delivering deployments, patches, backups and incident resolution. Collaborates with architects, ICT teams, MSPs and vendors, integrates cloud services with Active Directory, Windows and Linux servers, networking and storage, and documents operational procedures. Requires tertiary IT qualifications and experience in complex enterprise/cloud environments; NSW Government or regulated environment experience highly regarded. Hybrid work arrangement available; located in Sydney near Wynyard station; temporary contract up to 30 June 2028.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in information technology
- Experience supporting cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) in a complex enterprise environment
- Strong foundations in infrastructure technologies including Windows/Linux servers, virtualisation, networking, storage, and backup solutions
- Hands-on experience with hybrid environments
- Knowledge of cloud security, governance and compliance principles
- Experience monitoring, troubleshooting and optimising cloud environments
- Ability to collaborate with architects, ICT teams, vendors and MSPs
- Salary is indicative of Australian Government NSW Public Sector standards
- Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance is required before commencing
