Job Summary
Design and implement secure, scalable cloud and hybrid edge-to-cloud architectures supporting mission-critical capabilities for the Department of Defense across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, and on-premises environments. Develop solutions spanning multi-classification domains (TS/SCI, SECRET, UNCLASS) while integrating automated security scanning and DevSecOps pipelines. Lead technical strategy and provide guidance to engineers and stakeholders in designing resilient digital capabilities for distributed maritime operations and warfighter needs. Ensure full compliance with DoD standards, Zero Trust, and RMF requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, distributed systems, or platform engineering
- Experience designing and deploying solutions in AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud/edge computing architectures
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams with engineers, operators, and government stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- At least one Cloud certification (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, etc.)
- US Citizenship
- No dual citizenship
- Active TS w/ SCI eligibility
- On site w/ option for a flexible/hybrid working environment - 50/50
- Under 15% travel
- Occasional CONUS travel for integration, testing, and customer engagement
- PMAT offices as needed
- In some cases, work in a government facility may be required
- Travel may be required for customer engagement, team coordination, and potentially for business development
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting Navy warfighting concepts and associated capabilities
- Familiarity with cross-domain solutions and multi-level security architectures
- Experience with data streaming, event-driven architectures, and real-time analytics
- Experience working in DoD or IC environments, including RMF and security compliance
