Job Summary
Cloud Architect at Caylent responsible for architecture and delivery of advanced AWS-based solutions for MSP clients. Responsibilities include evaluating libraries and tools, owning the implementation of engineering stories, building cloud-native patterns (including IoT back-ends and serverless architectures), advancing event-driven designs, enforcing SDLC standards, collaborating across cross-functional teams, and enhancing observability with AWS-native tools and third-party solutions. The role involves hands-on development, design of scalable, secure, and cost-efficient architectures, collaboration with CloudOps, DevOps, and security teams, leadership in re-platforming/refactoring efforts, and engagement with clients through presentations and education. Requires strong communication, documentation, and client-facing skills, plus willingness to travel occasionally. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and multiple years of AWS experience are required; AWS certifications and multi-language programming experience are preferred. The position is 100% remote with global flexibility in pay in USD and a strong emphasis on continuous learning and development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 4 years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software); or 6 years of general IT experience
- 3+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services
- 1+ year code-defined infrastructure experience
- 1+ Continuous Integration and Deliver (CI/CD) experience
- Have worked with Agile Project Management or other project management work methodologies
- 3 years experience with Cloud Native patterns with services like AWS Lambda
- 3 years experience architecting and building scalable, automated infrastructure
- Preferred Qualifications include AWS Associate or Professional Level Certification, 2+ years of programming experience (Python, Node.js, Typescript, GoLang, Java, C), etc.
