Job Summary
Cloud Architect to join Caylent’s MSP team. Responsibilities include evaluating libraries/tools for cloud solutions, owning implementation of advanced cloud work for clients, researching and documenting problems, building Cloud Native architectures (IoT back-ends, serverless, event-driven patterns), and ensuring reliability, security, and cost efficiency using AWS services. Involves hands-on development, establishing runbooks/automation, collaborating with CloudOps, DevOps, and security teams, leading re-platforming/refactoring, mentoring team members, contributing to internal IP/open source, and occasional travel. Requires Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field with 4 years (or 6 years) IT experience, 3+ years AWS, 1+ year infrastructure-as-code, 1+ year CI/CD, Agile experience; preferred AWS certifications and strong communication/presentation skills. 100% remote with global teams; no visa sponsorship offered.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 4 years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software, etc) or 6 years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software, etc)
- 3+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services
- 1+ year code-defined infrastructure experience
- 1+ Continuous Integration and Deliver (CI/CD) experience
- Experience with Agile Project Management or other project methodologies
- 3 years experience with Cloud Native patterns with services like AWS Lambda
- 3 years experience architecting and building scalable, automated infrastructure
