Job Summary
Lead cloud architecture assessments for IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and CDaaS environments, developing diagrams, dependency maps, and security boundary documentation. Analyze existing and future-state enterprise architectures to develop technical recommendations aligned with the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework. Perform systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle, evaluate technical risks, and maintain engineering risk registers. Conduct assessments of cloud migration strategies, API integrations, and data pipelines while supporting DevSecOps initiatives. Collaborate with government stakeholders and provide technical leadership to engineering teams. Requires a public trust clearance and 8+ years of experience designing enterprise cloud solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Minimum 8 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cloud solutions
- Experience architecting solutions within AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environments
- Experience with enterprise systems engineering methodologies and lifecycle management
- Experience supporting Federal cloud modernization initiatives
- Experience with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), FedRAMP, and FIPS 199 security requirements
- Experience producing architecture documentation and technical roadmaps
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain and retain a public trust clearance
Desired Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or equivalent Azure/Google Cloud certification)
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (FEAF, TOGAF, DoDAF)
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
- Experience using architecture modeling tools such as Sparx EA, Cameo, LeanIX, or similar
- Experience with text-based architecture modeling tools (e.g., PlantUML, Mermaid, Structurizr DSL)
- Experience supporting DevSecOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes, containerization, and infrastructure automation
- Experience supporting NOAA, Department of Commerce, or other Federal civilian agencies
