Job Summary
Lead onboarding of new clients into cloud accounting services, transitioning them from desktop or manual processes while cleaning historical data and establishing accurate opening balances. Build standardized, scalable workflows for engagements and train clients on systems, processes, and best practices for recordkeeping. Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities, then respond to inquiries and resolve accounting issues promptly. Mentor junior staff by reviewing work, delivering training on cloud standards, and sharing best practices to strengthen technical capability across the firm. Contribute to internal SOPs, identify inefficiencies, and implement scalable solutions to advance operational effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of bookkeeping or cloud accounting experience in public accounting or a similar environment
- Produces accurate, well‐organized financial records
- Communicates clearly with non‐accounting stakeholders
- Manages multiple clients and deadlines effectively
- Solves problems independently and escalates when needed
- Adapts quickly to new systems and client environments
- Strong experience with cloud accounting systems (QuickBooks Online, Xero preferred)
- Experience with app integrations (e.g., Dext, Hubdoc, Wagepoint, Plooto, Shopify)
- Advanced Excel skills (data cleanup, pivot tables, basic analysis)
- Comfort with digital workflows and document management tools
Desired Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Finance, or related field is considered an asset
- Progress toward or completion of CPA designation is an asset but not required
- Experience with CaseWare and desktop accounting software is an asset
