Job Summary
Residential Loan Closer is responsible for managing the final stages of the residential mortgage process to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely loan closings. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and finalizing Closing Disclosures (CDs); obtaining and validating final closing details from settlement agents and attorneys; finalizing funding figures and wiring instructions; releasing Closing Disclosures in advance of closing; reviewing closing packages for completeness; coordinating with Processing, Underwriting, Secondary Marketing, Funding/Wire, and Post Closing to meet deadlines; monitoring rate lock expirations; maintaining daily closings reports; updating the LOS with final data; maintaining files and assisting with closing issues; responding to audit requests; supporting the Post Closing team with trailing documents and closing exceptions; and performing additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- TRID and Closing Disclosure experience is required, including demonstrated knowledge of regulatory timing and accuracy requirements.
- 2+ years of residential loan closing experience and/or Encompass Loan Origination System experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple loans and deadlines simultaneously.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Willingness to work overtime as business needs require.
- Above average computer skills; experience with loan origination systems and standard office applications preferred.
