Job Summary
Chairside assist oral and maxillofacial surgeons in a hospital-based clinic, performing patient preparation, sterilization, radiography, and post-operative care while maintaining a sterile environment. Assist in the hospital operating room as needed. Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols regarding bloodborne pathogens and anesthetic agents. Requires CODA-accredited dental assisting program completion, DANB certification, and BLS certification. Full-time schedule with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program
- Certification in Dental Radiography
- Certification in Nitrous Oxide Monitoring
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Previous experience assisting in oral and maxillofacial surgery (hospital or clinical setting)
- Knowledge of infection control
- Knowledge of sterilization
- Knowledge of dental radiography principles
Desired Qualifications
- DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification
- DANB Certified Oral Surgery Assistant (DANB-COA) certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
