Job Summary
Register patients, verify insurance, and manage scheduling while answering telephone inquiries. Initiate patient care assessments, collect vital signs, prepare exam rooms for procedures, and gather specimens. Provide patient education and support to assist physicians, patients, and families. Returns patient phone calls as needed. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant credential, one year of clinic experience, and preferred phlebotomy skills. Must possess strong communication abilities for a fast-paced environment, proficiency with computers and fax machines, and detail-oriented teamwork. BCLS certification is required within the orientation period. Experience with GPMS/EMR is desired.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Minimum of one year clinic experience in clinic setting
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly
- Ability to use computer
- Ability to use fax machine
- Ability to use copy machine
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- BCLS received within the orientation period
